We’re very excited to announce some new faces to the SFC USA Regional Director team. Josh and Lindsey will be stepping into the role representing the Mid-Atlantic region out of Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
Here is a note from Josh and Lindsey
It may only be June but we are pumped for next winter. Honestly, we can’t wait to see where and how God moves on the mountain. We believe completely in the ministry of SFC and are excited to be joining the team. Before we get ahead of ourselves let me take a moment and introduce ourselves.
My name first off is Josh Knipple (yes I said nipple, it truly is my last name). Being on the mountain has been part of my life since I was 2 years old. As soon as my brother and I could walk my dad had us out on the slopes. It truly became a family passion for our family. From there at the age of 16 my fulltime job has been at the local snowboard shop. After high school I went to college for youth ministry but somehow ended up back at that same shop and God laid on my heart skate outreach. Going to the kids in the area who many have been rejected by the church. That was the beginning of Crucified Ministries back in 2006. I have been in ministry for about 10 years now, starting with skate ministry running our own indoor park. Through that I have had the opportunity to travel around the country speaking at numerous camps, mission trips and music festivals. From there God led me to make the transition into full time church ministry around 6 years ago.
Now let me take a moment to introduce you to my wife. About 5 years ago while supporting one of our worship leaders at a local service, Lindsey was there helping to serve the meal for the night. We both had no clue why each other was there and thought that maybe the other person was there because of battling a some type of addiction. The beauty of it though was the heart we both had to serve, not because the other person was doing it, but because it is who God has designed us to be. While dating I let her know of my heart for the slopes and my desire to be on the mountain. I may have made a comment or two about how she had to learn to ride or this relationship was not going to work. Luckily for me she absolutely fell in love with the mountain also. She truly has a heart of empathy, to see into others lives and recognize their needs and hurts. It is an incredible asset to have in a wife in ministry.
When the opportunity came up to step into the role of regional director we took some time to pray and fast over it and just kept coming back to the same answers. “Why not do this, we’d be stupid not to take it.” It is both our hearts, our desire and something we can do together as a family. By the way we now have 2 sons Eli Micyah who is 2 and already shreddin, and Silas Koa who is 6 months but we plan to have him out there with us.
We truly believe with the number of mountains in the mid Atlantic area that we are going to see God start to light a fire on the mountains here. We see so much potential and opportunity and cannot wait to meet and pour into all the local chapter leaders. We honestly see this as the next step out on the water that God is calling us to making the transition from full time pastors to all out missionaries on fire with a passion for those on the mountains.
